The old Lone Tree library which is being transformed into a community center has been named “The Lone Tree Hub”.
After receiving 75 submissions, the Lone Tree City Council took a vote and “The Lone Tree Hub” was the favorite. According to council member Susan Squyer, the council seemed to think this name was the most welcoming to the community.
Lone Tree resident Andrew Saunderson submitted the name. “Hub, to me, just encapsulated the idea of bringing community together and being a real center for the community,” Saunderson said. “It is a great feeling to be able to name the center that is going to be an active and vibrant part of the Lone Tree community.”
The city purchased the building after the library moved to its new location at 10055 Library Way. Teaming up with South Suburban Parks and Recreation the community center will offer multigenerational and enrichment classes and provide meeting spaces that can be rented. Residents also will be able to pick up and drop off library books at the ‘Hub’.
